Procession of the Species

What is the Procession of the Species?

The Procession of the Species is an environmental and artistic celebration of the natural world using the mediums of art, music, and dance. Its intention is to give the natural world a greater presence in our community in conjunction with the celebration of Earth Day. It is designed as a cultural exchange to engage people from all ages and walks of life in appreciation of the natural world.

How to take part in the Procession

Participants will be wearing homemade masks, costumes, and giant puppets, carrying flags, banners, and streamers, and playing musical instruments, as well as dancing. Participants are asked to respect three common rules:
  • No written words
  • No motorized vehicles
  • No live pets
Otherwise, one is limited only by imagination!
